Well,
maybe not displaced. I'm out on a workers compensation injury.
I fell at work and when I caught myself with my hands I seemed to
have damaged my shoulder. Since my job as a Surgical technologist
requires a lot of lifting, I'm out until I can once again lift over 50
lbs. Right now after 7 weeks of therapy I'm up to 10 lbs.
At this rate it will be next summer before I'm back to normal.
And... to make matters worse they're using the word "surgery"!
Now I work in that field and like any good medical person I'm
inclined to take the "maybe it will go away/get better on it's own/I
can live with this" approach.
So while I'm out, I am seriously contemplating a
new career path that doesn't involve 50 lb. pans of piping hot surgical
instruments. One option I'm exploring is web design.
Therefore, here I am starting a blog and trying to learn all I can
about computers. My poor husband, a self proclaimed "computer
geek" is trying to teach me all I need to know. Problem is that I
hardly use my computer (at least I had one) except to use the word
programs and check my e-mail. I'm rather impressed that with a
little direction from him I now have 3 pages up on my very own web
site! YEAH!
That's probably enough "work" for today. I
think I heard Jim asking about lunch, so I'd better go and see to that.
Right now, since I'm out of work I try to do everything I can
around the house. Of course, I'm even limited in that. You
never know just what all your shoulder does until it doesn't do it
anymore. Oh well, maybe it will get
better.......................... :)
